Have you been filling up, driving until almost empty and filling up? Noting the cost of the refil?

380 miles from £47 isn't great, depends how you've been driving it. If fairly gently out of town then its crap, if ragging it around town its not so bad.

You can just tighten the alternator belt, you undo the top nut that is fitted to the arc shaped piece of metal, get somone to rock the laternator towards the bulkhead and re-tighten the nut. If it appears badly worn then replace it asap as a broke alternator belt will mean your car will stop running. They are about £3... 380 iles is good. I got 200 on my 1.2 8v :!:

Fan belt (the alternator or auxilliary belt as some call it) usually causes a screeching noise when it's slipping:thumbs:
