How was it overheating?

If the fan comes on then it shouldn't over heat no matter how long its left.

You should be able to tell if the clutch is slipping because the revs will rise without the cars speed.

Change the gearbox oil if you dont know when it was changed before (always good practice), and adjust the linkage as said.

get the linkage looked at re-adjusted
then adjust the cable on the clutch
then

see about replacing the clutch itself

Jus got mantzel and unichip installed on gsi, was great on mway and around town jus driving but siting in traffic (for no more than 10 mins) i started to find really difficult to put car into gear and when it did it was v v sluggish and slow...

Clutch fucked with new power? I mean it's only +20bhp over standard...
Has similar experiece in the 1.0 a year ago, after sitting in traffic for ages that was when was overheating...

anyhoo any ideas appreciated
