its doin my fucking head in if im honest, i really cant be arsed with it, where about is that leak that you were on about ^^^^^

I had my alarm ripped out by and alarm fitter for about £30 so there was no going back after that, car drove so differently after, took it back a week later and had a Clifford concept 300 fitted, was perfect after

I think you need to have a 3rd engine as standby... now who is selling an X16XE.

ive got a 37k sport engine, x16 xe and its still in the car, its running mint so i know there aint anythin wrong with it

just want to get mine sorted tbh, its really getting me down

Don't say it's running mint... you know that's asking for trouble :|

Replace everything - engine and ECU.

think thats the best solution joff tbh but i still need to get my engine sorted out desperately, this engine wont be getting fitted for a while yet, im taking the car off the road, but i need to solve this stupid idling

i know, this happened before but it wouldnt cause the over revving would it :(

im really at a loose end as to what this problem could be

i dont see how an air leak could cause it to cut out one min then over rev the next, surely it would permanently over rev?

its really getting to me now its been liket this for 3mths, i forget what a normal rev range sounds like :(

after sorting out that temp coolant sensor, the dodgy idling is still present, i went to vaux and had a word with one of the technicians, he said ive changed all the easy things :-

idle air control valve (£80)
throttle body inlet hose (£25)
temp coolant sensor (£25)

and im still no nearer to finding my problem, i explained ive bought a new engine, and he reckons that either my ecu is fcucked or ive got a mass air leak

(also no clocks now, speedo snapped, bought a new one, garage said theres nothing wrong with mine but its the clocks thats are fucked  )

realistically what are my chances of the ecu being screwed? and is there any other problem that could be causing this ?

its still failing to maintain revs til its gets to about 90 on the temp, then it over revs like a bugger, but now its started to cut out again when warm too, and sometimes it idles normally for about 10mins before doin ^^ again

im getting this engine taken out and ive got a new one, he said if the ecu is shagged then ill know when i put new engine in and its got the same problem, but tbh, i want to sort this problem out cos i aint selling the engine with the idling as it is

please help me cos vaux were less than helpful tbh :(
