Engine is in bits anyway so its not a hassle to get to! I'll have a wee look at it 2nite and see what I think!

I'm with Broster, won't gain anythign unless it's dodgey in the first place. it's inactive at WOT anyway, so can't make more power from removing it.

its nothing to do with the egr valve

agree with the monkey man, BUT u will only gain bhp if your car has a dodgy egr.

nah dont need it, remove it and the pump, get a gasket some sealant and a spacer and blanking plate, remove EGR valve fit blanking plate and spacer a gasket and some sealant and the car will run better and you will gain a couple of horses

Just above the exhuast manifold there is piping for what looks like a second air pump. Is it necessary? I have seen some Corsas without it. I snapped the two bolts that hold it on last night.
