wouldnt melt the cable, fuse would blow before that, as long as the fuse was correct! I used to use OE looms all the time for these bastard Alpine units, never had a problem. | |

when u use the internal amp in the alpine units they have a high current draw (more than the standard cable rating) and COULD cause the cable to melt when drawing a lot of current. | |

quote: noooo...you DONT want to do this, hence why it has to be a seperate power connection :| just run if from the battery, through the gromet behind the battery (behind glove box) and run it through to the stereo cage :) its not recommended that you do the same with the negative, but while your at it i would wire the negative with some decent cable back to the shell/battery - it wont hurt or nout, but atleast you know that there is a good connection etc :thumbs: | |

or just connect it to the peminant(sp to early) live in the stereo loom | |

Took a trip upto the car audio centre today.The guy there told me i would have to run a live direct from my battery to power this |
