ok two months later i got that damn 13m socket out lol!! was surprised it was still their!
im still having trouble getting the alternator loose! dont know which bolts to take of?

dude i tell u engine bays areblack holes! beardy dropped a flare jet in my engine bay and we never found it after looking for about an hour.

its not the whole ratchet tool under it!

just the 13mm sprocket has fallen of and under the alternator/inlet-manifold somwere???? i treid starting the car and jerking it forth and back but it fell deeper so that i cudnt see it anymore???

its pitch black outside now!!

SHITE! i dropped a 13mm ratchet tip under the alternator and cant get it or see it!! is this dangerous???

i cudnt get the alternator to move either! its c16xe by the way
cudnt get the ratched at the bolt that holds the alternator to the metal support part???

yep too right mine sounded like this bought new few quid about 2 and sounds well nice now even starting up in cold weather even now got a bran new battery as it wasnt holding its charge thought me alternator gone :( lucky enough it didnt phhhhew

you undo the bolt at the top at the alternator push the alternator back and tighten it up while pushing it back a bit

might aswell get a new belt aswell only cost a couple of quid

hmm i dont know what you mean by "tighten it up" is it a bolt or screw that needs tightening?
i will have a look at it soon :)

i thought it might be somthing worse than just loose belt??? :boggle:
like the alternator busted or loose bearing inside it or somthing???

u need to tighten up the altinator belt mate, easy enuff, just slacken the altinaotr off leaver the altinator out a bit and tighten it up abit, ull know what i mean when u look at it

usually on cold days, straight after i start the engine i can hear a constant loud high pitched screeching sound from around the Alternator area?

it only lasts 2-3minutes and then is fine!!
i had the cambelt, alternator belt and the tensioner pulley for the alternator belt replaced 8 months ago???
