I'm having the head completely re-done next month, its burning a good litre of oil per 300miles! I noticed the head gasket is weeping oil, the water header tank has no signs of oil in it so i assume one of the oil port sealing faces is no longer sealing............around the back near the inlet manifold is fine, its just where the block is slanted forward at the front.

I shall get the WD40 out tomorrow after work and sort it out, I have a new set of plugs and leads arriving Wendesday so that will eliminate another problem lol

give the electrics a blasting with WD40, make sure theres no water lurking in there.

The car had been stood for 24hours exactly just about, went to strike it up this morning at just after 5:30am and no go, just turning over! Got pissed off and got the old dear to take me to work, came home around 2:45, struck her up and she went first time! not a problem........

It's on a power boost valve, someone mentioned taking it off?? Could that over fuel it or do you think leaving outside at night is having its effects on somewhere in the engine?

is it just turning over

best port of call would be fuel relay and crankshaft sensor if it is not sparking, this is the most common things to go.

try taking off ur leads and starting the engine make sure u are getin a spark to all leads, also check the lead from the coil to the dis cap and make sure everything is ok there! after that check ur fuel lines are ok!!

Hello

Got in my Corsa this morning, and it woudn't start up, been fine all weekend!

The battery is fine, there were no signs of it struggling battery wise, it just wouldn't spark up! Maybe i should try a new set of plugs and leads? I took them out at the weekend, cleaned them up with a fine emery paper, yet didnt check the clearances, bad mistake??

Its had a compression test and was ok, but i do know i need valve stem oil seals as its burning oil.....

Anyone know what it could be or should i start with new plugs and leads and go from there??

All help appreciated, thanks chaps!
