i had my lifetr ultrasonically cleaned.
they weren't noisy, but were c oming out while the head was being flowed, so had them done anyway.
should save you some cash on buying new ones.

Engine flush can remove small carbon deposits that block potential oil leaks. I always use it personally

A bloke informed me yesterday that my C20XE engine does not like to have engine flush put through them, doesn't do them alot of good, whether its true or not i'm not sure.....

autovaux lifters are mate in the same factory as GM ones so save yourself a few quid and get them,.

If you are on a budget just take the lifters out and soak them in degreaser or carb cleaner to clean them.

Over time oil blocks the litlle pin holes so it takes longer till the oils warm for the tappets to fully fill.

You can clean the crap outta the tappets, worth doing otherwise itll cost you close to 200 for new ones + cambelt etc etc

Mine are quiet from start, a second or two and thats it.

I was told to obvisously keep ontop if it, and it will be ok until i have it done......think i'll have the head gasket done at the same time.

Know of any good Vauxhall sites for spares.....top end wise, head etc.....?

My C20XE is really noisy when the oil is cold, just top end, i think i need new tappets, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem........its when the oil is cold and alot thicker.....doesn't seem to get to all the right areas, once its had a little run, well say 5-10mins its as quiet as a mouse!

I'll probably have them done anyway, just curious as to whether it is a common problem?
