was bout too say, when i did my cambelt, just undid the 6 bolts and knocked the pulley off with a hammer. | |

get a breaker bar onto the nut and crank the engine, tis always the best way to undo them :D | |

the other way is lock it with mole grips so the grips rest on the roll bar or something. but as myke said u dont need it off | |

you need to reverse one of the bolts through the gearbox onto the engine or something, to lock off the flywheel. | |

right i thought of a way, get a metal bar, drill 2 holes in it big enough to take the bolts that you have already taken out, bolt the metal bar to the pulley so the end of it rests on the floor preventing it from turning then undo the start drive bolt, only thing is if it slips the engine will spin a few revolutions | |

i used an iron pole & ratchet to get mine off, was an ass to remove tho, but worked in the end. | |

the way i did mine was to sit in the car with my foot on the brake and with it in 5th gear. then my dad put a torque wrench on the end of it and hit it hard with a hammer. | |
