Every Vauxhall me or my parents have ever ownde first ghear has always been fairly stiff its a common fault on Vauxhalls so if its not too stiff then I would not read to much into it

i got the same problem with you guys.
the only gear having problems is 1st, the rest of the gears are perfectly smooth.
Clutch is OK too.

Its kinda like that i am servicing it soon maybe i will mention it to vauxhall. 1600Power is doing vauxhall parts cheap on here so maybe i'll see if i can get that part from him

you have to force it in when sometimes, other times it is smooth, reverse makes a lil bit of a grinding noise when puttin in gear, the clutch seems fine though

i'd look at the clutch if it wont go into gear when stoped.

I also have this, i usually just wait till the car completly stops before putting it in first...

On a hill i usually have to roll forward a bit to put it in reverse but i thought that was normal?

The clutch could be dragging? Does it go into reverse ok?

Think i have the same prob, it wont go into gear some times n its solid as fook ? There a bit in the engine that i twist and it loosens it for a while but needs to be done every so often, take it to vauxhall they should be able to pin point the prob

Could this be the gear box needs oiling?

Or is my gearbox F*&ked???
