i have -40mm on mine and they seem fine no knocking noise and they've never fallen out!

its strange that they 'pop out'. i suppose u could bond it with some sort of glue nothing to loose really.

i though the weight of the car being on it should hold it in place though.....

what ya do is cable tie them to ya springs, its the simple answer, how weird is that i just put a post up about the noise ya trying to stop, not knowing you wanted to do the same, you have given me an idea now!!!
any way cable tieing them is good too cos if ya get caught out on a hump back bridge ya springs wont drop out, no need to undo the rear stru nuts the beam will move enough to get em out

thats the very one matey, yeah theyre 40mm springs, ive replaced it before, but reckon it keeps falling out cos the springs compress more than the OEM ones. its to stop an annoying knock which everyone else thinks is their exhaust when they lower their car!
doya reckon i could stick the spring seat to the axle using glue or something?? cos i reckon it'll come out again within a few months

cheers

jack up the car... support on axel stands..... put your jack in the centre of the rearbeam but just raise it so its just taking the weight of the beam.

undo the the bolt on either side thats joining the shocks to the rear beam and take these bolts out. then lower the jack and then take the jack away completely.

if there standard springs they still wont come out yet u will have to push the rear beam down to the ground then the will just fall out. be carefull not to damage the brake lines when yer doing this

dont worry there wont be any compression on them at this point so they wont pop out and kill u:lol:

think its this thing yer replacing?

the springs won't fall out u have to undo a bolt if i remember right. Jack the car up then undo a bolt on each side of the torsion bar (the big long bar that runs cross the car, i think that's what's it's called) then the bar lowers and the springs fall out.

Hi guys,
i need to put a spacer ring between the rear spring and axle of my sport , as the original appears to have fallen out. If i jack the rear of the car up will this give me enough room to slide the spacer in or will the springs pop out and kill me. as i understand, you can jack the back up to a certain point until the springs just fall out? will this be what i'd have to do? its only on one side btw

advice appreciated

cheers
