Hi, I've knocked them down to 30 psi now. Thanks for all your help. When I checked them they had only been around the block once and were pretty cold. They were still reading 50 this morning when I checked them so I dont think it was that Neshol.

Cheers all

An alloy wheel place told me that you add 1.5psi for every inch bigger the alloy is on top of the standard rim pressures

(Neds pumping thier front tyres hard so they can do big burnouts  )

the manual itself reccommends 33 front 30 rear for standard sport/sri vaux alloys

I have 32 psi all round in a 1.6 corsa but might go 32 rear and 30 front :|

Hi all,

Thanks for the info, I thought they were abit hard. I'll sort them out before I drive anywhere else I think!

Cheers,

Nikki

I've got 32 at the front, 29/30 at the rear :|

Mainly for the purpose of thinking I'm cool wheel spinning off the lights - then shitting myself when I get understeer

Might just adjust that lol... should be slippier on the rear (harder) and softer on the front idealy.

50psi feck! Dont drive far otherwise you could have a blowout! Thats waaay to hard. I run mine 28front and 34rear for the best performance in my 1.2 16V - find it helps to introduce a good ballance of under/over steer having the back a little harder and the fronts will get a little harder as they build up heat from driving.

Go for haynes pressures for a good ballpark figure.. it shouldnt really matter what tyre/wheel combo you have...

i think they should be about 30.
someone better confirm this but im sure mine are 30 psi.
if there too hard u will loose grip but ive heard someone say its better for going faster:o
im not sure tho

Hi everyone,

Just got my first set of alloys today. Put them on and went for a spin. They felt pretty hard, checked the pressure and they are at about 50psi. Is this ok? This is way over what it says in Haynes, is it different for alloys. Wheels are TSW lightnings and tyres are Yokohama A539 195/45R1578V.

Cheers
