has it been raining there in the last two days or have you washed it?
if not you can eliminate that (sorry if thats stating the obvious)
other things could be temp sensor or idle control valve. plugs not too old? damaged leads?

damp HT leads, try spraying some damp start or WD40 onto the leads, this should rule them out any way

Hi,
My car has been stood for 2 days, I came to start it tonight and it had a few problems...
It turned over but wouldnt actually start, then I got it kind of started with my foot on the pedal and the key turned but when i lifted my foot it cut out.
I left it a few seconds and did the same again..holding the my foot to the floor I manged to keep it ticking over at around 150 rpm! After about 30 seconds I quickly released the pedal and put it down again..it reved freely but I had to keep it doing so to keep the car started.
After another 30 seconds I was able to take my foot off the pedal and it ticked over as normal.
Once I got out the car there was a wet patch where the exhaust ahd been.
The exhaust was smoking a bit after but im not sure if it was excess fuel..
Does anyone have any idea what the prob could be?
