i took the cover off the driver side door the other day to see what size the speakers were...........

i think the speaker has contracted some speaker eating bug cos half the thing was missing :lol:

hveta get some new ones soon.

managed to get alpine sps 170a 16cm with adaptors and mounted upside down to fit! winding the window down did cut the speaker cable in half tho! managed to fix it now so can wind the windows down all the way :thumbs:

The alpine Type S's may be shallower...

Ill double check 2morow for you but I wouldnt go for anything much more than 50mm, the Type R's are 70mm.

Im having to build some door pods to fit them.. :(

damn my system so far is FULL alpine, i wanted some alpine front speakers, what is the MAX mounting depth i can get away with?

17cm is the max you can go for speaker size, just make sure the mounting depth of the speaker isnt massive otherwise you wont be able to wind down ur window :thumbs:

some 13cm speakers will fit no probs with the speaker adaptors available in ur local halfrauds, get components if you have the funds, the infinity ones are good for 100 notes :thumbs:

yes its very possible, jus got to get some new speakers, and as you're new to it i wouldnt bother with door pods, jus get speakers to fit the default aperture, which iss? i cant remember.. but yeh, get alpine :D hehe

I am wanting to get some new speakers for my doors, Is it possible to take out my old ones and replace them with some new ones. I have seen that you can make doors pods but looks a little to hard to do so is this possible.
Also could anyone give me any adivce on some good ones to get.
Im new to this so soz if it sounds stupid.
