my car having simpular priblem, but my warning light comes on now and again but goes off after a second, ive had new airflow meter, and new sensoror through out the engine, spend over £1000 so far and still doing the same!!

id say its either the....

the gasket not the head one (is there another one at the top)

or that the engines pinkng... dont really know how to memedy this though....

could this all be down to my exhaust manifold/gasket. Spoke to a kid i know who works in a garage and he thinks thats what is wrong. Car feeling sluggish = flat spots and really rich petrol smell out of exhaust!?

k then. So how much is a compression test?

no the ecu is self learning, so resetting it will not make a difference.
compression test may also tell if you have worn piston rings or valve train

Did the paperclip test and came back with no fault. Head gasket was replaced at xmas about 4000 miles ago. So i'm a bit baffled. Might it be worth disconnecting the battery to reset the ecu?

tester is around £20 ish i think and may help.

My cars been feeling sluggish and when starting off in first gear it sounds like its gonna cut out, exhaust has been spluttering so i assumed it was that. But went to a garage today who gave it a good looking over and said the exhaust was perfect. Suggested i get a diagnostics test done on the engine at vauxhall.

I'm just really in a pissing mood cos i wanna know whats wrong with the car and get it fixed. Any ideas what it could be? Symptoms are noisey + not pulling well through gears.
