AAARRR! Ive got some brand new never opened handbrake cables from Vauxhall (both long and short) which I bought as I was going to change them as matter of course but decided against it! They do cost around £50 from vauxhall the pair but as im a trade customer I get them at approx 50% - they cost me £23 im looking to flog them for around £22 + postage for anyone else who needs them...

Its fixed now. Cost me £52.50.

I already have a haynes manual so I was tempted to do it myself, but for that price I dont mind getting it done properly.

Thanks for your help guys.

There is a long and a short cable. My short one broke, cost me £50 to be replaced at a garage.

Went to put my handbrake on lastnight, It was quite a slope so I tried to give it an extra click - all of a sudden my handbrake was very loose ;)

Me and a mate got under the car and weve found where its snapped, just before the driver side rear wheel. Weve tied the loose cable to the axle and the handbrake is working again (not a permanent fix though).

My question is, is the cable in 2 parts? Can I just by the back part or do I have to replace the lot (inlcuding the bit that runs up under the car)?

It looks like it would be alot asier to fit the rear section if thats possible..

Is it hard to do yourelf and how much would it cost to get someone else to do it?
