Is the ERG valve a common problem for corsa's then?

Done a search in this forum and there are loads...

had same problem but with no ecu light. cutting out a junctions and busy roundabouts made me look like a right clown.

Temp sensor fixed the prob but there could a number of things that cause this.

My engine management light came on and my car just died, wont idle at all, and the fault code is showing as 1405 - EGR Valve. Would this be the problem?? what symptoms would a dodgy EGR Valve give???
