there is littel difference really, especially if you get some headwork done on the standard redtop head.

vx head wasnt as polished inside as the coscast one.


and i beleive sportyboy is right, that pic is of a coscast head.

and iirc as far as which cars came with coscast heads it was only astra gte's and some lets as miles says.

my engine came from a 90's cav and it is coscast as it's stamped on the head.

iv got a cavvy 16v sri and it has got a coscast then cos the is NO hole there

Cavaliers never came witha Cosacast head... To check though, it will have Coscast written under the exhast manifold...

here is a NON coscast head. that small circle is the plug i mentioned. Coscast heads dont have that.

non coscast heads have a small plug on the passenger side of the head. Coscast ones dont. it just looks like a small plug, about 1.5cm diameter and 5mm or so deep.

there will be a raised coscast logo under exhaust port 3 if its a coscast.
