I looked in the haynes manual (usually a gud start) but cudn't find ne mention of a handbrake switch and had a look @ mine and can't c 1 either. Wud it b in or under the car do u think? | |

i thought that there was a switch around the handbrake that controlled the light, as you slould be able to hear it click on and off before you actually apply any stress to the cable... | |

Cheers Lads. Wouldn't that affect his braking tho? He sez it's been fine and wen i was in the car the only problem i could c was his damn late braking! | |

Im with Adam I'd put money on it being low brake fulid, even if it doesnt look low pop a little more in right up to the max and jobs a good 'un :thumbs: | |

check the brake fluid level and top it up its 90% gauraunteed to be low brake fluid or you hanbrake switch is bust | |

My mate has an L-reg 8v Sri (Not sure wat exact engine but it's got the power sterring and all the other extras - Damn Him!!!) His handbrake light just wont go off, we've had a look underneath etc. but there's no apparent binding and the handbrake works just as it should. Has anyone got the foggiest as to what cud b wrong with this as it's drivin him mad? Cheers ppl :thumbs: |
