Lee gave me a quote earlier this year for £650 - with a 30k 1.6 16v and all work - drive in, drive out.

The only thing that puts be off is the fact he's over 200 miles away - otherwise Id have jumped at the chance. I regret not doig it even now!

I won't wanna pay over £700 for it really as Im getting a £250 exhaust at the min too - but I need ot ensure its gonna work, be reliable and is going to last me a long time!

the labour charge for this conversion is about £500ish its just the engine that is o ntop of that. i believe ur exhaust will work with the x16xe engine.

I got a quote for this conversion from Cossvaux last year for 2k.

I ended up getting it done for 1k at a local garage, which included, Engine, Gearbox, ECU, new clutch, cam belt and headgasket. Engine had a full service history and had done 49k.

They will charge more, but I dunno if they use 2nd engines or reconditioned units.

I think its beardy and lee mitchell who do conversions at that price with engine.

Think CossVaux would charge that? Or would they be more being a company?

I'd know for sure if they'd email me back!

£700 for the conversion. Might be more cos a 40k engine is hard to find...

Ok Guys & Gals, what should I do?

I've emailed CossVaux a week ago but no reply. I need a new centre section but want to upgrade.

I wanted a back box and centre section but now Im thinking of making my car last me longer and putting a 1.6 in it.

How much would a drive in drive out engine conversion cost? I want a low milage 1.6 - 40k miles or less only.

Will a Remus exhaust for a 1.2 work with a 1.6 or will I have to upgrade it?

Please answer the Qs or if you don't know just vote on the poll.

Please don't just put engine conversion stright off - its a 1.2 and Ive also gotta think about longevity and moving on - or keeping it to get ROI.

Thanks,

Rich
