ive taken the amp out and wired the speakers up 2 my headunit 4 now and there fine, betta than 2tunes at all 4 da tym being

u sure its the speakers that r smoking and not the insulation of the cables?

id say recheck how its wires up and that there is no breakis in the cable anywhere and nothing is shorting out onto the car

thats dangerous to do.

get a 4 or 8 guage power cable with an inline fuse.

read up some ICE tutorials mate.

if u were using a thin 18+guage cable for power, i would be expecting fire, not smoke!

ash, rca carry audio signal only at a rate of <0.15v. they aint goin cause smoke

my power wires fine its a 4gauge, and there is afuse near the battery, ive wired lots of amps up b4 and they have all been fine, ive also go a 4gause earth and its still doin it, it think it may b sumthin 2 do with the RCA's,:boggle:

mate get some gauge 4 or 8 for your power cables and rewire the whole fooking lot. Wack a fuse near the battery with the CORRECT FUSE (the total AMP-age of all of the devices on the power cable) then that should sort it out :thumbs:

No offence mate, but thats why you get speaker wire and power cables....replace it ASAP before your goes up in flames..or give it to someone who knows what there doing :rolleyes:

its not a thin doorbel speaker wire, its a chunky pheonix gold 1, and its only a 30w amp:(

Speaker wire as earth, is this a pish take mate? Im amazed the thin speaker wire hasnt burst into flames!! Sort out your wiring and then test it, pahhh speaker wire for earth - whatever next :rolleyes:

yep ok will try the amp in a m8s car but tried the speaker in m8s car and its fine, i used 2 have a big chunky earth wire but not its on only a thin speaker wire, could this b the problem, the power light is not on, on the amp but it still sends power 2 the speakers:boggle:

check and re-cheack your wiring. Usually a short causes smoke but it COULD be an internal fault with some of your kit...

get him to replace the amp....sounds like its fooked to me :(

still doin it m8, had thegain up full b4 and was fine, is also draingin my battery for some reason

try turning the gain on the amp down

leant my amp and HU 2 a M8, got them back 2 day tried 2 put em in, but wen i put the door speakers and 6x9's on the amp for more than 30secs they start smoking:boggle: i turned it all off, and tried jus 1 speaker, and it started smoking agen, also the sound quality from it is really poor???
