u sure its the speakers that r smoking and not the insulation of the cables? | |

id say recheck how its wires up and that there is no breakis in the cable anywhere and nothing is shorting out onto the car | |

ash, rca carry audio signal only at a rate of <0.15v. they aint goin cause smoke | |

my power wires fine its a 4gauge, and there is afuse near the battery, ive wired lots of amps up b4 and they have all been fine, ive also go a 4gause earth and its still doin it, it think it may b sumthin 2 do with the RCA's,:boggle: | |

mate get some gauge 4 or 8 for your power cables and rewire the whole fooking lot. Wack a fuse near the battery with the CORRECT FUSE (the total AMP-age of all of the devices on the power cable) then that should sort it out :thumbs: | |

its not a thin doorbel speaker wire, its a chunky pheonix gold 1, and its only a 30w amp:( | |

Speaker wire as earth, is this a pish take mate? Im amazed the thin speaker wire hasnt burst into flames!! Sort out your wiring and then test it, pahhh speaker wire for earth - whatever next :rolleyes: | |

yep ok will try the amp in a m8s car but tried the speaker in m8s car and its fine, i used 2 have a big chunky earth wire but not its on only a thin speaker wire, could this b the problem, the power light is not on, on the amp but it still sends power 2 the speakers:boggle: | |

check and re-cheack your wiring. Usually a short causes smoke but it COULD be an internal fault with some of your kit... | |

leant my amp and HU 2 a M8, got them back 2 day tried 2 put em in, but wen i put the door speakers and 6x9's on the amp for more than 30secs they start smoking:boggle: i turned it all off, and tried jus 1 speaker, and it started smoking agen, also the sound quality from it is really poor??? |
