also check the joins and put firegum round them to make sure it seals.

to see if its blowing when cold get a old rag/towel and start the car get somone to hold the rag over the tail pipe tight and listen for leaks

burbling and pops arn't really annoying - its just the loud raspy tinny noise I get sometimes when its cold that annoys me - but now I understand why... I can go about sorting it.

Probably putting it back on the hangers will help as I've never had this system on the hangers properly.

it pops and burbles when its cold due to the E.G.R valve.when my cars cold if i rev it to 3k and let it drop it backfires.i have no cat though

get the system re set so all the seals are good then see if it still rasps
as for the burbling and poping on lift off only way to clear that would be to put a std system on.

interesting... :look:

Thing is - when I got it fitted, I lost those vaux clips that hold the exhaust on its hanger - so I never clipped it on and it's just gradually fallen off (too many speed humps) - not sure whether rubbers are still on there...

how much is it for those exhaust hanger clips? coz I might go get some - then drive to my mates (he's not even into cars, but his garage came with a pit so you can get under the car :D)

if its off its hangers chances are is bent the joint on where it joins to the centre pipe causing it to exit there thus causing a rasp.

could the fact it's off its hangers in the center possibly cause extra rasp then? i.e. causing a bit of a gap / not a 100% tight fit since it'll be hanging slightly more in the middle...?

Why does it do this and how can I fix it?

Basically, my car has a sebring exhaust system and it is very raspy when you first turn on the car and drive about... a sorta bee in a tin noise when you boot it (really horrible rasp noise) ... what causes this?

After about 5-10 mins of driving the noise totally disapears (heats up exhaust?) ... why does the raspy noise completely stop?

Anyone know how I can get it to not have the noise at all? I also get a lot of bubbling / slight pop noises on the overrun (if I lift off the gas) ... why does this happen and how can I stop it also?

Cheers...
