Alrite. It was my induction kit that caused my air flow meter to fail. Its the exact same symptoms I had with my 1.2. It wouldnt rev passed 3k in any gear and then went into safe mode where it wouldnt go over 35mph.

Would recommend you return the car to standard engine wise and reset the ECU.

HOW TO RESET THE ECU!

just need to disconnect the battery for more than 60mins to allow the backup memory to be wiped.

re-connect and start your start your car.

it will splutter & cough for about 10 seconds while it re-calibrates itself.

do not rev it during these 10sec

it will then settle itself and idle nicely and thats it sorted.

only problem is that u'll lose all ur pre-programmed radio stations!, and if its a vauxhall radio make sure you have the keycode but vauxhall can sort that out if you dont have the key code.

You need to get a diagnostic check at your local vaux garage. This happened to mine and It was the crank shaft sensor and the MAF.

Do you have an induction kit?

car seems to have a problem!!

1.2 sxi

when starting the car it starts ok, but there is nothing there under the throttle!! booting it or anything just stud there in nutural nothing happen, eventally it come to life and runs fine untill you get to 3-4 thoughand rpm, then it lags and jerks and warning light comes on, once revs drop below 3000 rmp the light goes off :o

what could be the problem!! it runs perfect till you get to 3000 rpm, ok for driving around the town, but no when ya need to over take a grandad doing 20mph on 6 road, beeing a 1.2 needs to go to at least 3000 revs to over take unless you have a run up!!!

any thoughts people!!!
