Which means 4 x 26w RMS with a not great frequency range and crap SNR!

I had comps running on one of thiose hu, and now its amped its LOADS better, and they r crap components really!

aye....you need to amp your comps to get the best outta them
im running infinity 5000cs's...cost about 100 squid and they sound pretty good at low volumes running of the HU :) But when i wack it up it goes to pot :( But i think an amp and some dynamat will solve all of that :)

ive got a set of the type Rs and they are lush, go very loud and stay clear, also they are very basy and they are not amped yet. recomend them anyday, also i have the type r 6*9. i think inifinities sound too tingy imo

So Type R All the way

a lot of it is, as DC says, personal preference, but i'd say more is to do with how well they're set up

Its all personnal preference as always.

Im not a fan of Alpine components.

Focals and JL wil always sound good but u get what u pay for and thats why they are more expensive than other brands i guess!! :)

focal comps are the way, better than JL XR's IMO.

And the alpine type-R will be loads better than the infinities, i personally dont rate infinity at all, my m8 had a set and they were crap. Type-r comps have good levels of mid bass, but are quite a harsh tweeter sound.

how mucho $$$ you got to spend on them.. as there are many deals going around for speakers..

The Infinity ones are FAB the Alpines are slightly less quality..

other people will say different things..

all i gotta say is JL all the way
