turns out wen the cam belt was changed the wire that leads to the camshaft sensor was routed thru the wrong way rite next to the cambelt pulley:!

so turned out it shredded the wire!
so i jus put in a new bit of wire and duck taped it nicely, good as new and problem solved

cheers for the help though guys

however i hav a new problem :(
lower down the cambelt plastic cover it seems to be knocking somewere??
i managed to make it pretty quite by keeping the screws loose and the cover slightly of??

It shouldnt have been removed orr touched for a cam belt change. If it is faulty I have one here I'll sell you :)

When you take the two screws out of the sensor, or putting them back in, make sure you don't drop one into the lower belt cover like i did!
Cover up the hole with a bit of tape/metal/paper!
Had to change the cam belt to get it out!

Sensor cost bout £50 new or £15 from a Scrappy.

If it's an ecotec then it's behind the cambelt cover, inbetween the cams, if it's the 8v engines the it's on the dizzy
