hrmm wot engine is it?

i had no speedo cable in the car for about 2 months

the ecu light came on alright but it didnt affect the cars performance at all.

i could be corrected but i think when u read the fault codes it throws out the fault for the last time the ecu light came on so if yer speedo cable was broken that could be y ure getting that code.

but as i said could be wrong on that.

P.S when ya replace a speedo cable make sure u tighten it right down onto the gearbox or it will snap.

i went through 3 before i realised my stupidity:lol:

depending on how old your car is - no speedo = no mileage!

i had same problem a couple of weeks ago, some one told me it could be the idle control valve but i changed the sparkys, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm and it hasnt done it since.

nothing to do with the speedo cable......
could be a number of different things, you need to see if your ecu has stored any fault codes
