brown is good, or overheating cant quite remember

running rich is black and lean is white i think, not sure on brown

took my spark plugs out today.

1=half black half browny colour
2=half black half browny colour
3=black(although when i wiped the black off it was brown)
4=black(although when i wiped the black off it was brown)

all plugs are bone dry.

what do these colours mean again?
