my 1995 sport (x14xe) does not have the access plate on the end of the box but only had a standard flywheel, not a pot flywheel as expected with the hwole box out to change clutch fiasco :boggle:

I'm not having any problems at all selecting gears or anything, just wasn't too sure wot was the problem.

nah, you only really need to centre em up to get the box spindle through the friction plate. once the box is in and you press the clutch, it centres up properly...
sounds like to me your clutch isn't disengaging properly, try adjusting the clutch cable maybe??
my release bearing did a similar thing before it went, gears became increasinglt hard to select, juddering due to the clutch never disengaging.....the the bearing went pop on the M1...

i wouldnt be confident to do a clutch, its centering it on the fly that would do it for me, think thats whats wrong with my motor at the mo
