another cause of this squeeky brake prob is that the pads wear down the discs and a ridge develops on the disc surface. this means that when you're not even pressing the brake, the edges of the pads touch the ridge and squeal.

i solve this by filing off the edges of the pads every so often.

annoying to have to do it, but much less annoying then the bloody squealing sound!!!!!!

bit of a bodge lads but it dose sort the prob or has done on other cars ive tryed it on. Get 2 blades in a hack saw and put a cut half way into the friction lining of the brake pad this will disperse the brake dust better thus stoping it from squeeking sounds harsh but it should do it its worked on cars @work that have had the same prob (not my tip its from my boss)

right i had this for ages,

took it to vaux, they had it in and said he had fixed it,

drove down the road after getting it back and it was still happening,

i was fuming so went straight back and told them this, they then booked me in for a weeks time,

went back in a weeks time and he said there was no problem with the braking system, pads or discs and he was unsure what the problem was he gave my keys back and i went away again with squeeky brakes,

After a week again i was getting so pissed off with it i took it to a local garage (not vaux) the same place which fitted my springs, and he told me there was a crack in the pad and that i should take it back to vaux,

So after i finished with him i took it back to vaux, told them the problem and asked them to replace my front pads under warrenty as the pad was faulty,

they agreed to do it and since they changed them i get no sqeeeking!!

So its the pads

which crack

which

causes

the problem

:)

not their lame excuses about brake dust
