The bore size of the 1.7dti is the same as the 1.2 16v isn't it? Also will this box be restrictive on my petrol if i didnt remove it.

I get about 30% - 40% off parts like these so hopefully it wont be too expensive

cheaper than elsewhere AND guaranteed!!!
vx do silly things like the backbox of a 1.2 corsa-if put on a diesel will improve bhp cuz 1.2 backbox is less restrictive. diesel back boxes full of baffles

SAFE. I'm gonna get myself one tomorrow and then just remove this little box.

thats just a post-cat centre section me thinks. the cats are on the manifold-that is purely for sound deadening if i remeber correctly.

Its in between the hangers on the centre section and the front. Its after the down pipe bit where the CAT is on the 1.2 16v

bubble

is it just after the curve of the pipe? or well before that?

diesels dont tend to have centre sections as they create to much back pressure

Its cos the ones near me are in St Albans and think they can ripp off the posh people. They can GTF I'm doing mine myself

I had my centre silence removed - It's not overly loud IMO, but there are times when it drones a touch on long motorway trips TBH

Quite bearable though :)

Ok i just looked under a 1.7 Dti. It is striaght thru. But nearer the front there is a little box. Now if this box is just a small silencer it doesnt matter. But if its the CAT it'll cost loads cos its part of the whole centre section. I am going to find out for definate tomorrow.

Red_SXi

I didn't know the 1.7 Dti had no centre box, i am going to look into this. I have a 1.7Dti on my drive at the mo too

go custom. powerflow/ascar etc. can do anything you want with exhausts. ranging from 80-150 ish for centre section with box. or staight through about 50-90 ish (rough prices)

getting a smaller centre box will make it sporty sounding. removing will sound fairly loud and may rasp.

Doug_SRi

is there any companies that sell just the middle section? i already have a back box which i like but just wondering if you can buy a middle section. i know the 1.7DTi SXi doesnt have a middle section but would this section fit on a 1.4 SRi?
