yes well i thought it was this but no luck, i think the speakers are jus to cack. Doing my head in

tbh mate i aint been around too much past few weeks as many have noticed.

When the preouts are touching eachother they are crossing each others signals/shorting therefore causing it to cock up the signals to the headunits onboard amplifier.

The metal outers were touching? Not clever and a bad design fault at that...

it was the pre outs touching jus taped em up & everything seems fine now

itsounds as thought the speakers can t produce the sounds at that sort of volume.

What about pre outs touching at the back of the head unit ?

yes mate, too much power. standard speakers are probably less than a quarter of that

Ok i fitted a Clarion stereo to my Astra, problems are:

At certain (Usually high) levels of volume it sounds like the cd is jumping is this due:
1) Pre touching behind the headunits
2) The head unit is to powerful for the speakers & they jus can t produce the sound at that volume.
