original air filter? you mean a paper one? that needs no spray as its not free flowing.

Whenever you clean it oil it as cleaning strips oil.

Just spoke to pvd and they have informed me that I don't need to put this on as It did not come with it in the box. They did say that I would need to clean it though every so often. Is this the case as I did not put this stuff on when I put my original air filter on?

A foam filter filters air by stopping large particles with the foam... smaller ones are stopped by sticking them to a special oil coating.... dirt retention aditive..

You shouldn;t be using the BFO without the additive! It will be letting small particles into the engine.

If you can't find a BFO cleaning and oiling kit you should be able to find a PiperX one which is just as good.

Sorry to be stupid, but what is this about "air filter dirt retention additive"?
I have just put a BFO Cone on my car last weekend.

Just got one , do i add the air filter dirt retention additive now or after i've cleaned it for the first time
