ive seen countless people putting the right hand caliper on the left side and visverse and get the problem u have

check it out

bleeding nipples should be on the top.

well the rear wheel cylinders push the shoes out over right, well if they arnt adjusted the shoe are further away from the drums so the cylinder has to push the shoes further out which in turn gives more pedal travel

hmmm still dont get it mate, cant see how the handbrake adjustment affects the travel on the brake pedal??

yeah but if its not adjusted it makes for lots of peddle travel which can be mistaken for a spungy one

I thought the handbrake only controlled the drums?

and works on a separate system to the oil?

Cud be wrong as this is only my assumption!

if youve blead the system n theres no air mate how many klicks has your hand brake got, should be around 3-5 if thers loads jus adjust your rear brakes up
(if not get a mate to clamp the flexi pipes 1 bye 1 clamp it press your foot on the brake n get your mate to release it if the peddle drops then theres air in that pipe) jus sumert i picked up @ work

ive just fitted a new set of red dot disks and pads. i took the calipers off to clean and paint them as well. ive refitted them all and the pedal feels really spongy even after bleeding them 3 times. there dosent seem to be any air in the system but theyre still spongy! the pedal travels about half way down before u get any real pressure. there isnt a leak and hoses look fine.

anyone got any ideas?
(its a corsa gsi btw)
