What is the mileage? It could need a new timing belt.

my engine has become really noisy, like a 'ticking' sound, my mechanic took a look and then had it in for the day, it was a little quieter when i got it back but all he did was put an oil treatment in it!
now im thinking - oil pump aint working properly so oil isnt getting to the top of the engine, if this is the case how much will it cost to fix the oil pump
1.0 12v by the way,
thanks for any help
