I dont think im gonna bother wasting my money. All this was was a bit of research after a mad scientists thought that i had. Thought six speed gearbox had closer ratios so thought it may have been possible to stick it on a d turbo and see what happens. Cheers boys

lol........but on a serious note.....boost/fuelling reset will take over 2 secs off the 0-60 time of the TD, make mid range acceleration a whole lot smoother, and add another 5-10mph up top! :D For £120, it wud be rude not too!

There is no point what so ever.

The TD will not rev past 5k, where as the GTi 6 box has ratios suitable for 8k.

It will slow the car down dramatically. Both acceleration and top speed will suffer, but it is possible to fit this box to the TD if u had to.

it'll be a waste of time/money and effort

even finding a 6speed box wont be easy, nevermind having to pay for one!!

it would be interesting to know how you get on with it. ive heard of people swapping diesel gearboxes to petrol engines before cos they are stronger and have shorter ratios than petrol. 6 speeders usually have shorter gear ratios so it might work quite well

Cheers corsa boy, i'll be hoping for the latter if it comes off, not really arsed about a massive top speed.

It might work, it might not. You need to find out about the gear ratio's and also if the gearbox will fit onto the engine, since one is a big-block petrol and the other is a diesel. As far as ratios are concerned, they are going to benefit a high revving petrol rather than a low down grunty diesel.

I would have thought so. ask Peugeot Ecosse. they'll tell you. dont know how well it would work though! it could mean slower acceleration and massive top speed on a TD or it could be quicker acceleration and low top speed. probably the latter

I know its notin to do with corsas but would it be possible to fit a six speed gearbox from a 306 gti6 to a 306 D Turbo and would it be worth doing it at all?
