The engine would have a different engine number as its a different engine (obviously) and a different engine code.

I imagin they would ask what car the engine came from.

To change from spi to mpi your going to need fuel pump, complete inlet manifold, loom, ecu, I think head and pistons are different as well.

prob be chaper to buy the 1.4 8v mpi engine and swop the lot mate! ull need the fuel pump, ecu, inlet, etc....
