I told CIS that I had swapped for a 2ltr and now they refuse to insure me. Their loss I guess.

I informed my insurance company as soon as I swapped the x14 for the x16 and my policy only went up by £30 a year. Better to be straight with them.

On the engine block where it meets the gearbox there is the engien code, it starts withthe engine code then the number eg, X14XE8129465024F or somethign like that, anyway the fist bit tells you.

1.4 16v (post-97) and 1.6 16v Sports have all the same stuff in the engine bay.

ABS, PAS, Air Con etc etc etc

the 1.4 16v is a lot nicer to drive than the 1.2 16v - my brother has one.

they rev quicker and feel more responsive :D and and sound sick with an induction

you want to insure it a 1.4 den, they do have codes on the block, not sure where though.

no vin plates, that on your car.

power wise yeah :) 1.6 pulls better low down too

much better to drive too, more ummph

but i think all the crap on it slows it down

ArdenSXi

don't think so, i've had both and htey look same engine wise :)

although my 1.6 has a lot more crap floating in the bay compared to my 1.4 (air con, pas and some stupid thing that whins when i turn the car on from a cold start)
