I have now been in contact with Pioneer and they are going to give me a discount.
Have they any worthwhile stuff?

I was told that a pair of GT 12" JBL subs were awsome. Anyone have experience of them?
Had a few folk say sony stuff aint too hot.
I have been looking at that sony deal and want to know where they get £500 from, u buy it individually and its cheaper than the package deal :?
How annoying is this really!! Got to choose new ice and rims and don't have a clue what i want/need.

hi mate
i have found that in the corsa it seems to be best to run good front
componants and not worry asmuch about the quality of the rears, when you are
in the front of the car you hear all the detail from the front speakers, the
rear ones just add a depth to the music.
if you get a set of speaker adapters from any ICE shop for the front doors
you can run 17cm componants in the front doors. room is slightly tight
behind the grills but they do fit. if you combine those with your 6x9's or
another set of speakers like co-oxials in the rear of the car ( either in
the parel shelf or in the rear panels, this looks way nicer.)
the sub choice is a good way to go, as this adds depth that speakers in the
car cannot reach. the size of sub is totaly dependant on the type of music
you listern to. 10" subs or smaller are very hard hitting but quick, so they
can keep up with even the fastest bass beats. 15" subs can drop much lower
and louder but with no where near as much speed and control, and the 12"subs
are a inbetween.
when you go tto get a sub and amp i always say to go for a match in the RMS
figures. this figure is what the speaker / amp can really handle. the peak
value they always quote was probably reached for a second before the sub
melts! lol.
with the amp, a mono (one channel) or a 2 channel will be perfect for
running a sub, but maybe consider a 4 channel so that you can also power
your front speakers off the amp as well. or a second amp for the other
speakers all together!!
the key to getting good sounds i have found, and this is important in a
corsa, is good installation. things like sound-deadening the front doors
makes a huge difference, and the boot door as it vibrates like mad!!
Also good cabling is a must! and good connections! lol
as for makes, i personally love alpine type R speakers. but if the money
wont reach those then the poineer "accelerate" speakers seem to be good
value. vibe amps are great and their componants are too, but there 6x9's
aint so hot.....
jl are the best i have worked with, infinity are great too.
dont touch sony, EVER!!!!!!
i am stopping now as my fingers hurt!! lol

I personally would never chose sony for ICE (apart from some of the headunits). If you arent going for a show standard install, have you thought about just getting 1 sub instead and spending a bit more £ on it? It would also give you more boot space, which is useful in a day to day car!

i would look at rockford, JL, Infinity, PG, Audiobahn, Alpine :)
As for your 6x9s mate, as soon as you wack a sub in ya boot it will sound shite with them and to behinest, there isnt a lot you can do to make them sound better without spending abit more cash. So i would get rid of those straight away :)
Personally mate, i would get some comps up front (Focals are good if you have the cash, but inifnity are nice for the money). Then get the subs in the back (rockfords, kickers, JLs are all good) and then get two amps (one for subs, monoblock, and another to run the comps :). If you want some sound in the back, then buy some coxials or the same comps that you run up front (either amp em and turn them down a tad, or run them off the HU) :)

I have pioneer 6*9's and am looking to get the same style but the front ones.
Would i be wise to just get all pioneer then?
What sub did u get like?
My Jbl amp still works but I want 2 12's so it wont be able to power them, also going to amp up all my speakers so that could be 2 new amps.
Any reccomendations on models?
