mine jerks about when driving, only used to do it when cruising at a slow speed, now it does it when i accelerate aswell, and its way underpower according to the rollers today, the problem with mine is the ecu is fucked

it's not the intake manifold or the air mass sensor as i've checked them.

i'll just have to drive and wait for it to do it again and hope it doesn;t

bad idle control is a common problem with corsas :| however my ECU light has never come on yet!?

seen so many posts on here about them.....revs go up and down at random, power loss, even engine just cutting out out of the blue!!

but the problem cud be anything really! cud be anything from jus the cold weather to your idle control valve, inlet manifold blocked or air intake piping is jus dirty n blocked up...

My car has been having problems with power dropping off and ecu light coming on... and also it would be jerky when cold.

I disconnected the idle control motor and started the engine without it, this caused the car to idle eratically and flash a fault up... (no surprise there).

I reconnected it and started it.... hunted round the revs a bit then settled.

Since then all today the car has worked like a charm... even when i started it last night at only 3 degrees c it was much better... and i can hammer it without the power dropping off as much. Haven't seen the ecu light all day.

I'm thinking i've forced the ecu to recalibrate my valve.

Might be a coinsidence and time will tell if its fixed or not but what do you think?
