mine does it when i thrash the tits off it! then i hear like a hissing noise for about 15 mins after aswell but up 2 now me radiator is still in one piece:S

my old car ( same as yours) went to 100, till the fan cut in.

sounds ok to me. my old car would heat up pretty quickly too.

also its not overheating cause its not going into the red :)

the temperature does go up hardly at all in my car, i think there may be something wrong :S

check everything on the cooling part of the engine, the fan should cut in at 98 degrees maybe the sensor is nackered,check thermostat

is that the switch that goes into the fan yea? and which one is the fuse?

have you checked the fan cuts in when it is meant to?? It's normally the switch dies or the fuse blows, just leave it runnign till the fan cuts in, if it over heats and it doesn't cut in then there's the problem.

Sat in a que for a mcdonalds earlier, and the temp went right up to 100, and a heard a little pop kinda noise.

Now last time i heard a similar noise to that was twice when waiting in a que for about 5 minutes, then the thrid time whilst waiting for a mate, my radiator blew up!!! Took the whole side out, but then the radiator was quite groggy!.

I can't remember what the problem was last time, so could anyone shed any light as to what this could be??? Ta.
