quote: 2 pack paint is made up of 2 parts, paint and hardiner/activator... i never said anything about that. But it makes no difference how its painted in the factory... the colour flame red is availbale in 2k or 1k format... so if the guy has flame red paint, it doesnt mean he shouldnt use lacquer... becuase he hasnt told you what type of paint it is and like i said before, you cant tell by the colour whether it needs lacquer or not. Also, i disagree with the comments that all red / white corsa's are painted with 2k paint, cos thats not strictly true...

What we are saying is that no solid colour from Vauxhall is lacquered from the factory.

What a lot of crap?... Colour does not determine whether u lacquer paint or not... :boggle: you really shouldnt say things if you dont actually know.

its the paint vauxhall used, it was crap paint, the stuff you buy nowadays wont fade anything like the standard colour would.

white and red corsas are not laquered, dont laquer it or it will not be a good colour match.

No, solid colours aren't lacquered (apart from black) When you scratch a non-lacquered colour you are scratching the base coat (in my case Red). But on a metallic colour because it has 2 layers of clear lacquer you usually only scratch the clear coat and it can be polished out easier.

No Flame red isn't lacquered from the Factory, but i've got a customer on here who's getting me to colour code his car (Broster) and his Sri spoiler, and colour coded mirrors were lacquered from the factory, but the car isn't. VERY STRANGE

Don't normally need to put a clear coat over solid (non-metallic) finishes like Flame Red. The exception is solid black as the black pigments give a slightly softer finish more prone to scratching. There's nothing to stop you applying a clear coat though if you want to.
