Thanks mate. Yeah, the stations i listen to mostly are on 102 and 103 but it misses these and goes to 102.1 etc.

Just had a look and the expanders seem to be about £20 so thats better for my £££s lol

Would this work with a US unit?

And with response to DAB:

Quality is 100% better than radio and it is encoded the same way as mp3.

All DAB radio's display information encoded with the transmission stream which could be anything from track name/artist to genre. It all depends on the equipment the station uses.

American headunits can work with UK stations if you buy a band expander. This country works with .05 mhz steps wheras the US works in .2 mhz steps.

Basically say if you wanted to get 102, you cant on the american unit because it would go to 102.1. If you buy a band expander, it would extend the 102 to 101.9 and 102.1

Is it actually any better, and what extra info do u get - ie track name etc?

Bought an American AV headunit that won't tune to any stations like 102 103 etc so thinking of either buying a DAB tuner, or an extra basic hu for the radio - if u know what i mean?
