i just put a 12" JL W0 today and it totally drowns out the treble of the 6x9s although they add to the hard bass beat :)

Gonna be re-building my install when the car comes back from Midas in march. I'm gonna be building the sub into the spare wheel well. But thats not a problem.
I read in a different post that it wasn't a good idea to use 6x9's an subs together unless the 6x9's are sealed (AustinPXX). Why is that. I been running subs and 6x9's together for a while and it sounds pretty good. The 6x9's I got are fucked and need replacing, so would I be better off using a different sort of speaker, like a component. Or would sealing the 6x9's off be the best way to go? Oh, what does sealing off 6x9's mean, is it like building an encosure, like for a sub?

Sorry for the long one! ED:wave:

(Forgot to say that I got a JBL 600w 12" Sub, 2 JBL 400w GTO amps and some broken Sony 6x9's (Parcel shelf accident!)
