is there anywhere to find out which units you can do this with / anywhere to get the adaptors from?
I'm fancying the pioneer deh8400. had it offered to me for £250

mate got the kenwood one for the mk4 astra for 40£,

ur looking at 40£ - 60£

yeh, as richie said above adapter lead to use the steering wheel controls on the alpine units are expensive. on a corsa c is about £60 - £80

Alpine (rare and expensive)

Main players are Sony, Pioneer and Kenwood. Kenwood also do some vehicle specific units which include the corsa

This has probably been asked before but which headunits can you do this with? and how can you tell that you can?
plus where do you buy the adaptor from?
i'm keen to stick a decent headunit in my new astra coupe, but i dont wanna lose the steering wheel controlls.
