The word everyone is looking for.... DISPLACEMENT!

No real difference with inverting subs, sometimes you get a tad of motor noise but as everyone has said HARDLY noticable. One word though, as ive found its VERY hard to get a good seal on inverted subs. The hole in the enclosure must be EXACTLY the same diameter as the internal diameter of the basket rim...

I do agree with you there, and i think you were saying that if you were making a box then you could make it smaller as there is no motor structure in the way.

if u had a perfect size box when sub is normal.....then u invert it....u will have a box thats bigger than u wanted

Are you talking about making a box or if you invert a sub in comparison to the box it was originally in?

makes the volume slightyl smaller!! cos there is no magnet in there!!

the magnet wud take up volume so without the magnet u need less space!!

Im running an audiobahn and it does look very good inverted. In verting the sub makes the volume of the box slightly bigger because there is no magnet structure etc in the box. more air for the sub to move.

apparently...puttin the sub magnet out looses a few db's but its so little its hardly worth complainin about....when i seen the magnets on the diamond m5's there was no chance i was hidin em!!

i rate the audiobahn better cos of the looks alone lol...fantastic...aint heard both so cant comment on sound srry...

yeah the bos i made is smaller...but the m5's perform well in a small box anyhows 0.6 cubic foot is all i put em in!!

cheers for comment..its gettin there at long last :-)

hey SRi_m00k,

nice install by the way. i just thought of something you can probabaly help me with. with inverted subs is the box still the same size or slightly smaller because the sub isn't in it?

thanks
