i,ve got a 1996 1.4 16v sport without power steering and i'vw got 17's on it. If anythin the steering went lighter when i put them on and it wasn't that heavy to start with so it's ok.

i got 17 x 7 on my 1.2, with a smaller steering wheel as well, not really a problem, exept you get a lot of tram lining.

if u put 18's on a non powerstearing corsa would find ureself in alot of bother, u could barely put 16's on it. either u start pumpin the weighs or go for sumthing realistic.

put some 15's (razors) on my 1.2 merit, just me in the car. HOW MUCH FUN, LOTS
ps. never had bigger than a 1.2, its a gud toy!

i got lowered 15's with 195 tyres no p/s mine is a 1.4 ls corsa steering is fine
only thing i can suggest is that the wheels are wrong offset or the tyres are under inflated

my steering got very "bumpy" with 16"s on... if u hit bumps n stuff u can feel it more

i thought mine stayed the same with wider wheels. although they are wider there is less pressure on them
