"Gavw" this "du pont paint" wat type of paint is it, for metal,plastic,primer n paint in one??

a smooth roof looks ace but dont do it with filler as there is movment it in the roff and it will crack

best way to smooth the roof is to weld a piece of metal the length of the roof and smooth the edges in this if done rite should not crack

The stuff i used was du pont paint. Got it free of charge from work:thumbs:

so u smoothed your roof instead of colour coding the roof rack strips then,

think im gonna stick with just spraying the strips for now, but think a smooth roof would look way beter

ive taken my top strips off.........pulled out the roof rack rail things smoothed over with filler....rubbed down with wet n dry so there very smooth......metal primer........2 coats...paint 2 1/2 coat...making sure u wet n sry them down to a get a goos finish....and laqauer

i dont think yours are going to last long mate,
ive already painted the ones on my car at the moment and i primed them first with plastic primer and it started to peel badly a few months later, thats why i went to the scrapies and got 2 more strips to do again:look:

but... the first time i did it was a rush job!! and i used Halfords primer, paint and Lacquer? not sure if this stuff is good?

Just done mine and didn't prime them at all, flatted with 800's wet and then just painted stright over that. Came out fine.

their made out of metal but have a thin coating of plastic or somthing im not sure, but i have sanded it down??

will it be ok to use plastic primer on it??? or do i need somthing else??
