if the heads off the water pump is pish to replace, you got a haynes manual? unsure on cost though, think maybe around £40-£60 from local motor factors (not vauxhall, there probs £100+)

oil pump think maybe around same sort of price, not sure tho, never replaced one of these myself, but looks simple enough in haynes manual

precautionary measures...

replace water pump (dont think it would of liked spinning at silly revs), aswell as oil pump

by followers do you mean the lifters? may be an idea to replace those, rocker-arms should be ok though

dizzy cap or coil pack? if dizzy cap, change the cap & rotor arm, coil pack should be ok

check the top end, also take off the sump & have a look checking all rod bolts & check for play on any components.

you sure there is no damage to valves or pistons? have you had the head off to look?
