I did have a look to see if it was the pedal or cable sticking, doesnt seem to be.

Kris- It does it both hot and cold

Where abouts are the vacuum hoses?

I'll have a look on here and find out how to do the Idle control value, will it be in the haynes manual? Is it worth just trying to clean it out or just get a new one?

Thanks for your help.

Why can't someone make a better aftermarket idel control valve for corsas ffs!

The originals are obviously crap.

IDLE CONTROL VALVE

Actually i believe it could also be a crack in one of the vacuum hoses off the inlet manifold... but check the cable first.

Maybe a sticky accelerator cable.

Replace the cable.... or spray WD40 down the outer cable to lubricate it.

You can test it by getting him to put his foot down and just watch to see if the cable sticks.

Got a problem with a friends corsa.

It’s a 1.2 M-reg Merit

When you take your foot of the accelerator, its seems to be sticking for a second, and sometimes revs even go up a little higher before dropping.

It doesn’t do it all the time, and is sometimes worse then others.

Having done a quick search on here, sounds like it could be an idle control vale problem, but the car idles ok, it just revs high when you take your foot off the accelerator.

Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks
